Joshua Jenquist is a Principal Engineer at Target, where he helps shape the company’s AI development lifecycle. He’s part of the team behind Dayton, an internal AI builder platform that began as an innovation-week project and grew to more than 4,000 builders organically. Before that, he worked on Target’s point-of-sale and self-checkout platforms, which run on roughly 50,000 registers across 2,000+ stores. At home he runs open-weight models locally and orchestrates AI agents that keep his homelab running: nightly maintenance, backups, and fixing problems & improving autonomously.
